IP Explained
According to the World Intellectual Property Organisation, intellectual property refers to the creations of the mind such as literary and artistic works; names and images used in commerce; designs; and inventions.
An intellectual property right, like any other property right, allows the owner to use their creation for his benefit and to exclude others from using his work without their permission.
It is important that you register your intellectual property, where applicable, in order to protect it. Registering your intellectual property gives you a competitive advantage and also ensures that you are rewarded for your creativity.
